Grand Opening of West Benhar Wind Farm
A celebration to mark the commissioning of EDF Renewables UK’s wind farm in Shotts, North Lanarkshire.
Sixty local children, stakeholders and community groups joined Scottish Government Minister for Energy, Gillian Martin to officially open West Benhar Wind Farm. Guests were transported onto the site – via electric coach - where a beautiful marquee awaited. A local barista served coffee, tea and bakes before some speeches, the plaque unveiling and ribbon cutting took place which officially declared the wind farm open.
A local Scout was presented with a prize for naming one of the turbines ‘Big Betram’ before everyone headed out for photos and for a sneak peek inside one of the turbines.
Bright Green Events took care of the event concept development, site logistics and overall planning , supplier management, health and safety, guest communications and on-site management.
